Rick Eckert Nabs Pair of Top Fives in Southeast; Lee Stutz Memorial Next

YORK, PENN (May 8) - The Rocket House Car team and driver Rick Eckert headed to the Southeast on May 2-3 for a pair of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series showdowns in the states of North Carolina and Georgia.  On Friday night at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Rick posted the fourth fastest lap during the qualifying session and later ran second in heat race action.  After drawing the third starting spot prior to the green flag in the 50-lapper, "Scrub" ran as high as second before folding his bumper under, which caused him to ultimately finish fifth at the checkers behind only race winner Darrell Lanigan, Jonathan Davenport, G.R. Smith, and Chub Frank.

At Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia on Saturday evening, another $10,000 top prize was on the line for the cars and stars of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.  Rick laid down the quickest lap during time trials to earn Fast Time honors, but later slipped back to third in his loaded heat race.  After rolling off from the inside of the third row in the 50-lap feature, the York, Pennsylvania star was able to pick off a couple of competitors en route to a strong third place showing behind only victor Darrell Lanigan and runner-up Tim McCreadie.  Rick currently sits second in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings following the doubleheader weekend.  Full results can be viewed online at www.woolms.com.

With the Outlaws tour sitting idle for Mother's Day weekend, Rick will take the opportunity to jump back behind the wheel of Paul Crowl's #7 Rocket machine on Saturday evening, May 10 at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Virginia.  The annual running of the 'Lee Stutz Memorial' will take place on Saturday and the unsanctioned program will be headlined by a 35-lap feature, which will pay $3,000 to the winner.  Rick and Crowl's team have already reached victory lane at Winchester together once in 2014, as they picked up a $2,500 triumph back on March 22.  Additional information on the 'Lee Stutz Memorial' can be found by pointing your web browser to www.winchestervaspeedway.com.

The latest dirt on "Scrub" Rick Eckert can be found online at his official website, which is located at www.RickEckertRacing.com.
