Southern Ohio Speedway Suspends OperationsWHEELERSBURG, OH-After a week of doing lots of thinking, H&L Motorsports, LLC officials have decided to suspend operations of the Southern Ohio Speedway effective immediately. The track has decided to suspend operations because of recent issues with car counts.
H&L Motorsports, LLC has always paid strong purses and always paid every penny that has been advertised. So much money has been put back into the facility to make improvements. Despite all of this, car counts are still far from what they should be as was witnessed at our last race. It is so hard to put so much money and time into the track every week to have the type of car counts the track has been having.
H&L Motorsports, LLC will continue to pay the lease on Southern Ohio Speedway and does have plans to start back operations of the speedway in the future. That could be as soon as later this season or at the start of the 2015 season. H&L Motorsports, LLC has not given up on the track and will use this time off to talk with race teams and welcome any feedback on what needs to be done to get cars to the track. H&L Motorsports, LLC is leaving all options on the table, including possibly shortening the race track.
H&L Motorsports, LLC would like to extend a special thank you to all of the race fans and race teams who have supported the track. Your support is so greatly appreciated. Any news on when operations will resume will be posted on the tracks website at
