Brady Smith Eyes Superior and Ogilvie on Heels of USA Nationals SOLON SPRINGS, WISC (August 6) - Brady Smith and his #2 team were busy in their home state of Wisconsin from July 29-August 2, as they competed in a trio of high-profile World of Outlaws Late Model Series events. Last Tuesday at Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wisconsin, Brady ran fourth in heat race action and later started thirteenth on the grid in the $10,000 to win feature event. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin ace was only able to complete 27 circuits in the 50-lapper; however, and settled for a twentieth place performance.
The 27th edition of the 'USA Nationals' was next on the calendar, as the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin was the epicenter of the Dirt Late Model world over the weekend. On Thursday in a $6,000 to win preliminary showdown, Brady finished second in his heat race prior to winding up eighteenth in the final rundown of the caution-free 40-lap headliner.
After timing in fifth quickest in Group A during qualifying and grabbing the second transfer spot through Friday's heat race, Brady rolled off from the outside of the fourth row in Saturday's 100-lap 'USA Nationals,' which once again boasted a hefty $50,000 winner's check. Unfortunately, Brady retired at the quarter-mark of the crown jewel extravaganza and was relegated to a twenty-fourth place effort. Brady Smith Racing (BSR) will return to dirt-slinging competition this upcoming weekend (August 8-9) in a pair of Blaine Brothers Challenge Series programs for the WISSOTA Late Models. A pair of $2,000 top prizes will be on the line on Friday night at the nearby AMSOIL Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin and on Saturday evening at Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minnesota. Brady finished fifth and second respectively in these two races one year ago. You can learn more by pointing your web browser to
