Night Two for Lucas Oil MLRA Washed Out at Junction Motor Speedway
WHEATLAND, MO (August 9) -Mother Nature washed out the planned second night of the King of the Hill Late Model Showdown at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska. Overnight thunderstorms with heavy rains saturated the speedway grounds forcing the cancellation of night two of the annual event. The quest for the 2014 Lucas Oil MLRA Championship now turns to Lucas Oil Speedway with Iowa's Chad Simpson leading the standings heading into the final three events. The MLRA contingent first heads to Wheatland, Missouri on Saturday, August 30 for a $3,000-to-win main event. Then, drivers return to the 'Diamond of Dirt Tracks' one final time for a two-night swing on Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11 for the First Annual ABC 17 MLRA Fall Nationals. The weekend features two nights of action with the night one winner taking away $3,000 for the victory. On night two, drivers return for another round of competition with the victor taking a way a cool $5,000. So far in 2014, Terry Phillips, Rodney Sanders, Jesse Stovall, Jeremy Payne, Chris Simpson, Travis Dickes, Will Vaught, Billy Moyer, John Anderson, and Ryan Gustin have visited Lucas Oil MLRA Victory lane.
