Dennis Erb Racing Rolls into Bulls Gap and Lawrenceburg this Week Following Topless 100

CARPENTERSVILLE, IL (August 21) - Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team invaded Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on August 15-16 for the 22nd edition of the 'Topless 100.'  The biggest roofless event of the season was once again sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and drew a stellar field of 63 competitors to the Batesville area.  On Friday night, Dennis laid down the fourteenth fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session and later finished fifth in his stacked heat race behind prelim winner Don O'Neal, Mike Marlar, Jimmy Mars, and Eddie Carrier, Jr.

When Saturday evening rolled around at BMS, Dennis ran third in his B-Main behind Robbie Stuart and Jack Sullivan, which was one mere spot out of a coveted transfer position directly into the $40,000 to win 'Topless 100.'  After receiving a series emergency provisional, the Carpentersville, Illinois native started the 100-lap headliner from the inside of fourteenth row.  Dennis - despite suffering a flat tire in the first half of the race and slowing to draw a lap 70 caution due to another flat - was able to climb a total of fourteen positions to salvage a thirteenth place effort in this year's version of the 'Topless 100.'  He still sits ninth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following Batesville.  Full results can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

Dennis Erb Racing will continue their year-long assault on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series from August 21-23 with a pair of $10,000 to win showdowns in the states of Tennessee and Indiana.  The ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee will kick things off tonight with the 11th Annual 'Scorcher.'  Following a day off for travel on Friday, the pristine Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana will wrap up the doubleheader weekend on Saturday with the 'Whiskey City 50,' which is set to be taped by the television cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios.  Dennis finished tenth and twelfth respectively in these two 50-lap races one year ago.  More information can be viewed by logging onto www.lucasdirt.com.
