Chattanooga, TN (8/23/14) - Lil' John Ownbey of Cleveland, Tennessee driving the #55 "Allen Trucking, North GA Motorsports, OMG Old Man's Garage" sponsored GRT / PMI Race Engines powered Late Model for Brad Allen, denied fast qualifier Brett Wyatt victory Saturday night in the 30-lap Late Model feature at Boyd's Speedway. Sixth fastest Ownbey (a former two time Track Champion of Cleveland Speedway) redrew the pole position after qualifying time trials locked in the 20-car field. Wyatt of Crossville, TN battled early with Justin Litchford of Tullahoma, TN and second fastest Blake Shapiro of Arlington, Texas before chasing Ownbey for the better of 25 of the 30 laps.

In the nights Special Media Challenge Gran Prix race, WGOW's Ken Meredith of Sport Talk put his #2 "National Boiler Service, Dale McDowell Driving School, Timco Graphics" sponsored racecar into Victory Lane, despite the efforts of US101's Styckman. The leading duo crashed into turn three after Styck tried his best "pit-maneuver" on the leader. Meredith got the win ahead of Daniel of US101's Morning Show and Boner, Rock105's morning host. In the Crate Late Model division three outta four ain't bad, as Bryan Pritchard (#3) of Harrison, TN won the 25-lap feature when Craig Burrows refused a post-race protest inspection. Pritchard, got lucky a late race caution appeared after after NASCAR's Ryan Gifford of Lexington North Carolina battled his way to second. Pritchard retook second from Gifford which put him in place to file a protest on Burrows in the first place giving the Big Red Machine #3 "George Shaw Racing, Ron's Car Wash, Steven Hogan Fabrication, Spangler Sheet Metal, Sweet Beginnings 4-D Ultra Sound" sponsored MasterSbilt team another victory.

Booger Brooks was victorious again in the A-Hobby feature, defeating Josh Beagan and Brandon Stanfield. In the B-Hobby feature it was all Eric Hughes of Graysville, TN. Lee Harbin and newly crowned Mid Season Champion Dallas Brooks followed Hughes across the checkered flag. In the Mini feature someone other than Koty Campbell finally visited Victory Lane. David Singleton of Lenior City, TN took the checkers over Danny Burnette with Campbell finishing third. The next race at Boyd's Speedway is next Friday night as Super Late Models invade for the $3,000 to-WIN 50 lap kick-off to the Labor Day Triple Crown weekend. Crate LM's also battle on Friday August 29th at Boyd's for a $1,000 to-WIN / 30 lap feature along with A&B-Hobby.
