Blair secures second track championship with victory at Eriez Speedway

HAMMOND, PA (August 24) - Max Blair led from the pole in the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Models feature and was never seriously challenged except by briefly after the final restart. On lap one Chris Hackett got by outside pole sitter Darrell Bossard for second with Matt Urban coming to third at five laps in. At the end of seven it was Robbie Blair fourth. The elder Blair ran next to Urban from lap nine but was unable to displace him for the spot with Urban solidly back to third by lap thirteen. Yellow flew at the end of seventeen laps when Chuck Parker came to a halt on the back straight, erasing Max Blair’s now-considerable lead. At green Urban immediately came by Hackett for second but was not able to stay there as Hackett was back in second before the end of one lap of green. At lap twenty three Hackett jumped the cushion in tune one but stayed in second. Blair’s win was his fourth of the year at Eriez with Hackett second and Urban third. Rob Blair, who had cemented his second consecutive championship last week, was fourth with young Steve Kania turning in another top finish in fifth.
