Billy Moyer Jr. Takes $10,000 Win at Tri City Speedway

BATESVILLE, Arkansas (September 17) - Billy Moyer Jr. has always loved Tri City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Illinois), but on Friday night he became even more fond of the place after racing to the $10,000 triumph in the opening round of the St. Louis Showdown in his #21jr Crop Production Services/Mesilla Valley Transportation/ Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn/Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Thirty-seven entries took part in the event, and Billy started his night by setting fast time in his group before blazing the win in his heat race to earn the second starting spot for the 50 lap feature. Tim Manville jumped to the lead from the pole position, and Moyer Jr. stalked him until lap 23, when he shot into the lead. Once out front Billy held off a hard-charging Brian Birkhofer en route to his eighth win of the season! Birkhofer, Manville, Jason Feger, and Billy Moyer rounded out the top five finishers. Saturday night took the team to Federated Raceway at I-55 for another $10,000-to-win, UMP Super Late Model event. For the second straight night Billy qualified fastest in his group before charging to the win in his heat race. As a result he started third on the grid for the 50 lap feature.
