Dennis Franklin declared official winner of Fayetteville Motor Speedway race

As of Friday afternoon, October 10, 2014, the results from the event at Fayetteville Motor Speedway event on October 4, 2014 have been amended to reflect Dennis Franklin as the official winner of the race. Following a post-race tire sample analysis of a tire taken from the race winner from during the race event, one of the samples taken was found as not meeting the benchmark provided to the lab. All parties involved in this process have been notified, as well as any other drivers notified of any changes in purse money owed.

The top three drivers in the points race have been made aware of the changes to Dennis Franklin's point total as a result entering this weekend's final race at Carolina. Any race winner receives 36 points for the win. This total is two more than Franklin picked up initially for his second-place finish. So, Franklin netted one more point toward his official point total, which is now 1192.

Franklin now trails Kennie Compton, Jr. by 10 points, as opposed to the 11 he trailed before the results were amended.

All competitors will be compensated for any changes in purse money as a result.
