Ray Cook Readies for Talladega Short Track Double-Dip this Weekend BRASSTOWN, NC (October 15) - Brasstown, North Carolina native Ray Cook made his way to Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on October 10-11 for the annual running of the 'Magnolia State Cotton Pickin' 100.' The unsanctioned mega-event drew a whopping 72 competitors to "The Mag" to vie for the hefty $20,000 winner's check.
Ray posted the eighteenth quickest lap overall during Friday's qualifying session and later finished sixth in his loaded heat race. The popular driver known as the "Tarheel Tiger" then moved up to third in his B-Main, but that was unfortunately one mere position out of a coveted transfer spot into the 100-lap headliner. Complete results from the 'Magnolia State Cotton Pickin' 100' weekend can be accessed online at

Next up for Ray Cook Racing will be a visit to Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama on October 17-18 for a doubleheader, which accompanies the huge NASCAR weekend across the road at Talladega Superspeedway. An unsanctioned program will take place on Friday night at TST and a $2,000 top prize will be on the line. The Southern Allstars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) will then roll into the "Hornet's Nest" on Saturday evening to preside over a $4,000 to win battle.
