Southern All Star Dirt Series Will Sanction The Gobbler At Cleveland Only
SAS PR
FAYETTEVILLE, TN (November 5) - The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Gobbler 50, a $5,000 to win event on Friday night November 21st at the Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN., will be the only event the series will sanction during the weekend or racing in southeast Tennessee.
Sanctioning agreements could not be worked out between the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series and Boyds Speedway officials forcing both parties to agree that business is business and that they would do their own event on that Saturday night. Boyds Speedway and Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series officials will continue to work with each on the 2015 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series schedule.
The Gobbler at Cleveland now becomes the final points race for he 2014 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series season and it looks like Riley Hickman of Cleveland, TN., will be taking home his second straight series title along with Chris Wilson of Crossville, TN., taking home Rookie of the Year honors.
More information concerning this big event for the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series and Cleveland Speedway will be coming out in a few days.

Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Gobbler Set For Cleveland Speedway
SAS PR
FAYETTEVILLE, TN (November 19) - The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Gobbler 50 will conclude the 2014 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Friday night November 21st at the Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN., and will pay $5,000 to the winner of the super late model event.
Cleveland Speedway’s future was uncertain at the beginning of the season and the racing community did not know if Cleveland Speedway would even be in operation as it had filed bankruptcy and it’s future looked bleak, but local area businessmen bought the track at auction and done major repairs to the facility to get in back in shape to open up and they have raced since the middle of September and will conclude the 2014 season with the Southern All Stars as it has done for the past over 24 Gobbler races at the speedway. Of the 24 Gobblers ran at Cleveland Speedway and current Boyds Speedway promoter Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA., has won the most Gobbler events at 4, Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN., 3 wins, Shane Clanton of Zebulon, GA., has 2 wins and single race winners of the event include Jake Knowles of Tyrone, GA., Randy Weaver, Ray Cook, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA., Chris Madden of Gray Court, SC., Clint Smith, Scott Sexton of Pigeon Forge, TN., Skip Arp, Patrick Duggan of Lenoir City, TN., John Jones of Rock Springs, GA., Danny Peoples of Margaret, AL., Don O’Neal of Martinsville, IN., Frank Ingram of Acworth, GA., Rex Richey of Ringgold, GA., and Lamar Lowry of Georgetown, TN.
Riley Hickman of Cleveland, TN., will be heading the Southern All Star drivers coming into the event as he will clinch his second straight series title in 2014 as he currently has two wins with the series, but he did have several challenges during the year and mostly from another local Chattanooga are driver Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., who has captured three wins this year and is second in points, Chris Wilson of Crossville, TN., will be crowned the Rookie of the Year, who late in the season made a strong move to get into the top three from the fifth spot and could take over second if he outruns Morrow. Josh Putnam of Florence, AL., is currently fourth in series points and still has shot at third with a good run, but he will need to keep Dylan Ames of Harvest, AL., behind him to stay in fourth as Ames is only two points out of fourth place, so the battle in the final series point as far as a champion maybe settled but second through fifth is basically up for grabs on the final night of racing.
Drivers that are also expected to be in action include Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC., Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN, Tom Maddox of Centre, AL., Josh Adkins of Talladega, AL., Nick Latham Winchester, OH., Jason Welshan of Maryville, TN., David Seibers of Petersburg, TN., Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, GA., Donald McIntosh of Cumming, GA., Skip Arp of Georgetown, TN., Clint Smith of Senoia, GA., David Payne Murphy, NC., plus man many more winner.
Local racing action will also include Steel Head Late Models, Crate Late Models; A & B Hobby will also be in action. Pit gates will open at 4 pm with drivers meeting set for 6:30 pm and hot laps will be at 7pm. Times may also be adjusted later in the week due to weather conditions as the event get closer.
SOUTHERN ALL STAR GOBBLER RACE PURSE: 1.$5,000; 2.$2,500, 3.$1,500; 4.$1,000; 5.$800 6.$700; 7.$600; 8.$550; 9.$525; 10.$500; 11.$450; 12.$425; 13.$420; 14.$415; 15.$410; 16.$405; 17.$400; 18$.400; 19.$400; 20.$400; 21.$400; 22.$400; 23.$400; 24.$400
