Pierce McCarter Races to Top Five Finish in Cabin Fever 40

GATLINBURG, TN (February 2) – Pierce McCarter returned to the seat of his #71 McCarter Brothers Racing/McCarter Lumber Company/CVR Race Cars/525 Late Model on Saturday afternoon for the annual Cabin Fever 40 at Boyd's Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia). 

The $3,000-to-win program drew a field of forty-eight entries to the oval, and Pierce would enjoy a strong start to his outing by qualifying fourth overall in time trials. He later raced to a fifth place finish in the dash, which positioned him starting fifth on the feature grid.  After battling amongst the top five throughout the duration of the 40 lap finale, McCarter advanced to a third place finish at the checkered flag behind race winner, Riley Hickman and Donald McIntosh. Cory Hedgecock and Jason Hiett completed the remainder of the top five.

Pierce will now turn his focus to crew chief duties for the Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Georgia), where his brother Mack McCarter will take his McCarter Lumber Company #51 Super Late Model into battle against the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors. Spanning February 5th-7th, the slate will include a $7,000-to-win affair to go along with a pair of $10,000-to-win events.
