REBEL 5K set to debut at Davenport Speedway
 
DAVENPORT, Ia. (April 9, 2015) – This Friday, April 10th, the Davenport Speedway will host the inaugural REBEL 5K. The event is highlighted by IMCA Late Models racing for a top prize of $5,000.
 
The REBEL 5K will be run on the quarter-mile dirt oval at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. Twenty-four drivers will qualify for the forty lap feature event.
 
Also racing at the REBEL 5K will be Modifieds, Street Stocks, SportMods, and 4-Stocks. All classes will be using a draw/re-draw format.
 
The practice session set for Thursday night, has been cancelled.
 
The high speed excitement moves over to the half-mile track on Friday, April 17th, for the 2nd Annual Midwest Sanction Showdown. The event marks the return of the MARS DirtCar Series and is co-sanctioned by the Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series. The open late models will be joined by the Modifieds and Street Stocks.
 
The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates will open at 4:30pm, grandstand at 5:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:30, and racing at 7:00pm.
