Dennis Erb, Jr. Wins Summer Nationals Opener at Brownstown; Seventh in Clash at the Mag

CARPENTERSVILLE, ILL (June 18) - The Dennis Erb Racing team landed in victory lane for the third time in 2015 on Wednesday evening, June 10 at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana! The UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour held their season lid lifter at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds oval and 29 competitors signed in for the annual running of the 'Hoosier Dirt Classic.' Dennis Erb, Jr. qualified fifth fastest in his group during time trials, but later moved up to second in his stacked heat race.

After starting the 40-lapper from the inside of the third row, Dennis worked lapped traffic to perfection to grab the point from Billy Moyer on lap 32. He went on to lead the remainder of the distance to claim the $5,000 paycheck for besting Moyer, Bobby Pierce, Billy Moyer, Jr., and Kent Robinson. Complete results from Brownstown can be viewed online at www.thehelltour.com.

Following the win at Brownstown, the #28 team headed south to Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on June 12-13 for the 'Clash at the Mag,' which was once again sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Dennis laid down the seventeenth quickest lap in Group A during qualifying on Friday night, but later blasted all the way up to third in his heat race.

After rolling off from the inside of the fifth row in Saturday's $20,000 to win headliner, Dennis was able to move up a couple of spots during the 100-lap affair - eventually crossing underneath the checkers in the seventh position. The Carpentersville, Illinois star currently sits eighth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the annual 'Clash at the Mag.' Full results from Magnolia can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

"Our new Black Diamond Chassis is performing really well right now and I couldn't be happier about that," stated Erb earlier this week. "Lapped traffic kind of worked into our favor at Brownstown and I could run that very bottom in the moisture better than (Billy) Moyer could and that turned out to be the difference. Then at Magnolia, we obviously didn't time in as well as we would have liked, but I ran up through there in the heat race and we got a good finish out of the weekend. I am looking forward to hitting these three tracks across the Southeast this coming weekend and hopefully we can keep knocking down some strong runs."

Next up for Dennis Erb Racing will be three more Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles from June 18-20 in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, North Carolina will kick things off on Thursday night with a $10,000 to win throwdown, while similar shows will also be held on Friday evening at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina and on Saturday at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee.
