Shane Clanton Scores Hibbing Victory; Set to Resume Wild West Tour

by Ben Shelton
ZEBULON, Georgia (July 14) - Shane Clanton once again parked his Weldbank Energy #25 Capital/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model in victory lane with his latest triumph coming with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series (WoOLMS) at Hibbing Raceway.

Shane Clanton traveled to Hibbing Raceway (Hibbing, Minnesota) on Thursday evening to begin the Wild West Tour with the WOOLMS. Clanton landed a mid-pack qualifying time setting him up for his 10-lap heat. Transferring the top three, Shane registered a heat victory, earning his way into the $10,000-to-win feature event. Via the redraw he started on the pole before leading all 50-laps to record his 12th victory of the season with Josh Richards, Morgan Bagley, Chub Frank, and Frankie Heckenast Jr. following him to the finish line.

“Passing was definitely difficult in the feature, so that redraw was extremely important,” said Clanton. “I just had to keep my nose clean in the feature and not make any mistakes. Again I want to thank all of my great sponsors and my crew for their awesome support.”

On Friday night the WoOLMS Wild West Tour headed to River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) for a $10,000-to-win feature event. With a car count of thirty Super Late Models, Clanton logged the 3rd fastest time in qualifying, setting him up for a heat race victory. Starting in the 2nd position for the 50-lap feature, Shane led the first few laps before ultimately slipping three spots by the time that the final checkered flag flew. He crossed the finish line with a 5th place finish behind Tim McCreadie, Josh Richards, Donny Schatz, and Brandon Overton.

Shane leads the latest WoO standings by 184 markers.

Shane Clanton now resumes action this week as the annual Wild West Tour continues. The remaining schedule for the Wild West Tour with the WoOLMS is as follows:
July 14th: Gillette Thunder Speedway (Gillette, Wyoming) - $8,000-To-Win
July 15th: Black Hills Speedway (Rapid City, South Dakota) - $8,000-To-Win
July 18th: Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) - $10,000-To-Win
