Chad Stapleton Backs into Brownstown Victory Lane

by Ben Shelton
EDINBURGH, Indiana (July 14) – Chad Stapleton may not have crossed the finish line first at Brownstown Speedway, but by the time that the night was over he was the victor in his Stapleton Motorsports #32 Club 29/Jay Dickens Super Late Model.

Stapleton initially crossed the finish line in the runner-up position in Saturday night's $1,200-to-win, Super Late Model finale at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana). However, in post-race inspection, initial winner, Devin Gilpin, was disqualified due to being light. As a result Stapleton was promoted to his sixth win of the 2015 campaign.

Stapleton won his heat race to earn the 2nd starting spot on the feature grid, alongside Marty O'Neal. Stapleton battled at the front of the pack throughout the feature before eventually finish 2nd. After the disqualification Stapleton inherited the victory. Stapleton currently leads the track’s point standings.

“I hated it for Gilpin, but we’ve been there in that situation before too, so it felt good to be on the other end of it for a change,” said Stapleton. “Again I can’t say enough about my team and this car. Our year is really going great so far.”

The upcoming weekend currently has a pair of events scheduled for Stapleton Motorsports. Friday night will take the team to Moler Raceway Park (Williamsburg, Ohio) for a Weekly Racing Series Event. On Saturday night the team will be in action at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) in another Weekly Racing Series Event.
