COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Stays Busy with Arkansas Double Shotby Ben Shelton
BEEBE, Arkansas (July 28) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil stays ultra-busy this weekend, July 31st-August 1st, with a doubleheader in the series home-state of Arkansas.
Last weekend found the tour thundering through Mississippi and Tennessee with events at Greenville Speedway and Camden Speedway. Hunter Rasdon notched his second win with the tour in 2015 on Friday evening, while Dane Dacus became the seventh different winner of the season on Saturday night with his first triumph of the season.
Greenbrier, Arkansas hot shoe, Jack Sullivan continues to lead the standings. He now boasts a 57 marker advantage atop the standings over two-time defending champ, Kyle Beard. Robert Baker, Shannon Scott, Clay Fisher, Gavin Landers, Chandler Petty, Tommy Surrett, and David Payne round out the latest series standings.
Gavin Landers leads the way in the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year battle with Hunter Rasdon and Casey Findley in pursuit.
The weekend opens on Friday evening with the first of two 2015 appearances for the CCSDS racers at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Arkansas). The evening will be highlighted by a $2,000-to-win/$300-to-start program. The CCSDS competitors made their debut at the facility in 2014, when Kyle Beard won a thriller. This weekend’s event marks the first of two appearances by the series at the oval in 2015. Modifieds, Ridge Runners, Street Stocks, and Mini Mods will be on the evening’s card. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with racing action set for 7:30 p.m.
Saturday evening takes the tour to I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) for the third of four 2015 appearances for the CCSDS at the ¼ mile oval. A $2,000-to-win/$400-to-start program is scheduled. Jack Sullivan and Jesse Stovall already have wins at the facility in 2015. IMCA Modifieds, Bumper to Bumper Super Stocks, and 600cc Mini Sprints will also be a part of the program. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing action at 7:30 p.m.
