NeSMITH CHEVROLET SOUTHEASTERN CLASSIC POSTPONED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 17-19CARTERSVILLE, GA – The 60-lap $10,000-to-win NeSmith Chevrolet Southeastern Classic at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, GA for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division has been postponed until September 17-19 due to the forecast of unfavorable weather conditions this weekend.
Golden Isles Speedway officials have reported that rain that has already fallen this week have saturated the grounds at the track, and even more rain is forecast for the remainder of the week and into the weekend. Despite the conditions, Golden Isles Speedway officials said they will attempt to run their weekly show this Saturday night.
The on track activities for the NeSmith Chevrolet Southeastern Classic will begin on September 17 with an Open Practice. On September 18, it will be Qualifying and Heat Race competition to set the front half of the starting field for the 60-lap main event on September 19. The B-Main Races to set the back half of the field will also be contested on September 19.
With the postponement of the NeSmith Chevrolet Southeastern Classic, the next two events on the 2015 schedule for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour will be a pair of 50-lap $2,500-to-win races at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, KY on Friday night, August 28 and Saturday night, August 29.
