Jimmy Mars Earns Top Ten Finish in World 100; Trip to Cedar Lake on Horizon

MENOMONIE, WISC (September 17) - The Mars Racing team rolled into the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from September 10-12 for the 45th Annual 'World 100.' The three-day crown jewel extravaganza once again started with a pair of Twin 25 preliminary programs, each of which paid $5,000 to the winner. On Thursday night, Jimmy Mars ran second in his heat race prior to picking off five competitors during the 25-lapper en route to a solid sixth place performance. In Friday's show, which was pushed back to Saturday afternoon due to persistent rain showers, Jimmy finished fourth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and thirteenth in the 25-lap main event.

All eyes were then fixated on the 45th edition of the 'World 100' on Saturday evening and a whopping $48,000 top prize was on the line. Jimmy grabbed the third and final transfer spot through his stacked heat race behind only winner Billy Moyer and runner-up Shane Clanton. After starting the 100-lap grind from the outside of the eighth row, the Menomonie, Wisconsin ace methodically worked his way past seven competitors on his way to a steady ninth place showing. Full results from the extended weekend in the Buckeye State can be accessed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Jimmy and his #28 team have circled the upcoming 'Legendary 100' on their racing calendar for September 18-19 at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Heat races and qualifying features will take place on Friday night at CLS, while consolation events and the $5,000 to win main event are scheduled for Saturday evening. Jimmy last competed in the 'Legendary 100' in 2013 and recorded a strong runner-up effort.
