Pierce Takes Season Championship Feature Win at Quincy Raceways

QUINCY, IL (September 20) - Bobby Pierce, Michael Long, Abe Huls, Joey Gower and Brandon Lambert all took feature event wins during the Season Championship Night at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, September 20.

Bobby Pierce started in the third row and worked his way into the lead of the $2000 to Win Big Ten Late Model Main Event on the tenth lap when early leader Michael Kloos slipped over the top of turn four. Pierce took off during the ensuing restart and pulled away to a half lap margin at the end of thirty laps.  Dustin Griffin settled for third over Brian Diveley in third, Mark Burgtorf in fourth and Denny Woodworth in fifth. Pierce and Justin Reed were the heat race winners. Mark Burgtorf claimed the Track Points Championship over Justin Reed in second, Denny Woodworth in third, Brian Diveley in fourth and Keith Pratt in fifth.

Michael Long took the lead of the Miller Lite UMP Modified Season Championship Feature Event on the second lap and never looked back to claim his eleventh feature win of the season at Quincy, Dave Wietholder rallied from his last row starting spot to take second followed by Shawn Deering in third, Frankie Wellman in fourth and Ricky Frankel in fifth. Long and Frankel were the heat race winnners. Long captured the Track Points Championship title over Dave Wietholder in second, Steven DeLonjay in third, Shawn Deering in fourth and Jared Schlipman in fifth.



Abe Huls won a hard fought victory over Jake Powers in the Powder Coat Plus IMCA Stock Car Season Championship Feature Event. Huls got past Powers coming to the white flag with Powers settleing for the second spot. Third went to Jerry Jansen, fourth to Jim Lynch and fifth to Beau Taylor. Jim Lynch claimed his first ever Track Points Championship over Beau Taylor, Abe Huls, Andrew Husted and Jerry Jansen.

Joey Gower took over the lead of the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA Northern SportMod Season Championship Feature event on the sixth lap and held off Brandon Lennox to take the win over Lennox in second. Adam Birck took third followed by Tony Dunker in fourth and Tanner Klingele in fifth. Gower and Michael Goodwin were the heat race winners. Gower also took his first ever Track Points Championship over Klingele in second, Tony Dunker in third, Adam Birck in fourth and Brandon Lennox in fifth.

Brandon Lambert scored his fifth feature win of the season in the IMCA Sport Compact Season Championship Main Event. Lambert held off Kimberly Abbot in second, Jeffery DeLonjay in third, Trent Orwig in fourth and Bryce Baker in fifth. Lambert and DeLonjay were the heat race winners. Abbott’s second place run cemented her first ever Track Points Chamionship, the first ever at Quincy Raceways for a female over Lambert in second, Orwig in third, DeLonjay in fourth and John Girdley in fifth.
