Volunteer Speedway’s 2016 Scorcher to be Sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series

Carnesville, Georgia (December 2) – The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series continues to shore up their 2016 schedule and announced today the addition of another of the region’s highest profile events. The 2016 Scorcher at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee will be run beneath the ULTIMATE banner for the first time in history. The annual event is scheduled for Thursday night, August 18th at the 4/10ths of a mile East Tennessee high banked-oval. The event coincides with Bristol Motor Speedway’s August NASCAR weekend.

“We have been friends with Phyllis and Joe Loven along with Doug Gillenwater, Robert Holman, Robbie Williams and really everyone at Bulls Gap for many years now. We were thrilled that they wanted us to become a part of the Scorcher with them. This is a huge event in the region and it is historically always one of their biggest crowds of the year.  We are very proud that we will be able to showcase our teams and our sponsors in front of that crowd.” said ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series owner Stan Lester.

Complete purse and format details for the Scorcher are still being set and will be announced in the near future. The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series expects to unveil their complete 2016 season slate during the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show in Indianapolis, Indiana coming up on December 10, 11 and 12. “The Scorcher will add another very nice event with a strong purse to our 2016 schedule. We have put together what we feel is our best schedule to date. 2016 will be the 6th season of ULTIMATE and our schedule offers what will be a record amount of money for us in a season. Our championship will pay $20,000 again so I am really excited about what this season holds.” said ULTIMATE Series Director Kelley Carlton.
