WHEATLAND, MO (January 6) - With another big year ahead, on both dirt and water, Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson closed out 2015 by receiving one of the industry's top awards.

Robinson was named "Innovator of the Year" last month at the Race Track Business Conference in Indianapolis. The second annual trophy was presented by FuelTix as part of the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show.

Robinson oversees the southwest Missouri complex that features weekly racing on the 3/8-mile dirt oval as well as special drag Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series events on "Lake Lucas."

"I'm humbled to receive the trophy on behalf of the entire Lucas Oil team," Robinson said. "We continue to work hard to create new programming for everyone who enjoys motorsports," Robinson said.

Dave Hutton, vice president of FuelTix, called Lucas Oil Speedway "a leader in motorsports facility operation. Their multi-faceted event calendar on both dirt and water is a favorite for both fans and participants."

The Race Track Business Conference, hosted by the National Speedway Directory, provides a platform for industry leaders to collaborate, analyze and to conceptualize around the business of motorsports.
