Ray Cook Fills Seat in Stacy Boles' Machine in Mountain Outlaw 50 BRASSTOWN, NC (May 12) - Brasstown, North Carolina star Ray Cook piloted Stacy Boles' #11b Capital racecar on Saturday evening, May 7 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. The World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series roared into the Volunteer State to preside over the $10,000 to win 'Mountain Outlaw 50.'
Ray posted the fifth quickest time in Group B during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. After starting the 50-lap headliner from the inside of the eighth row, Ray was battling for position early in the race when he unfortunately got into the frontstretch wall, which forced him to head pitside early to settle for a twenty-sixth place performance. Complete results from Smoky Mountain Speedway can be viewed online at

The popular driver known as the "Tarheel Tiger" is now scheduled to enjoy the upcoming May 13-14 weekend off from racing action. There is a chance that Ray takes to the track somewhere on May 20-21, but details will not be released until next week.
