Runner-Up Performance for Ames at Winchester; Busy Weekend Ahead

by Ben Shelton
HARVEST, Alabama (May 24) – After coming up a spot short with runner-up finish at Winchester Speedway on Saturday evening, Dylan Ames is preparing to take his Ames Land & Cattle Company #77 Capital Race Car/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle in a pair of Memorial Day weekend showdowns.

“We made the last-minute decision to slide up to Winchester Speedway on Saturday night to shake the car down for a couple of big races this coming weekend,” said Ames. “We had a good car, but I knew when (David) Brannon picked the top line for the start that we had her hands full because it was pretty top-dominant. We were happy with a 2nd though, and we’ll look for a couple of wins this weekend.”

Dylan Ames headed to Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Tennessee) on Saturday night for the regular night of racing. Timing in second quick in qualifications, Ames earned the pole-position for the finale after the fast qualifier, David Brannon decided to take the high-side. Unable to take make any moves on the low-side, Ames recorded a runner-up finish behind David Brannon with Jerry Ashley, Andy Picklesimer, and Shannon Davis rounding out the top five.
