by Ben Shelton
ZEBULON, Georgia (June 1) – Shane Clanton registered his sixth victory of the season on Friday night in his Weldbank Energy #25 Super K Express/ Capital Race Car/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model. The victory was worth $10,000 and came in World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series action at Moler Raceway Park.

“We had a really good car, but obviously with the way that the track was tonight, the draw was huge for us,” said Clanton. “It’s always great to win somewhere new, and I want to thank all of my great sponsors for making this all possible.

Returning to competition with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series (WoO), Shane Clanton headed to Moler Raceway Park (Williamsburg, Ohio) on Friday night. Drawing 35-Super Late Models, Shane cruised to a heat race win, and then received the pole position for the feature via the redraw. Jumping into the lead at the drop of the green flag, Clanton soared to his second-straight victory of the season and sixth overall. Pocketing a $10,000 payday, Clanton was trailed by Josh Richards, Eddie Carrier Jr., Frank Heckenast Jr., and Devin Moran rounding out the top five.

The following night brought the WoO followers to Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, West Virginia) for the opening round of the two-day Jackpot 100. In a field of 33-cars, Clanton posted a runner-up finish in his heat behind Josh Richards. Starting in 5th for the feature, Shane gained one spot in the 40-lap A-Main, notching a 4th-place finish behind race winner, Josh Richards, Steve Casebolt, and Derrick Doll with Robbie Scott coming in 5th.

Wrapping up the three-day stint in the WoO Series, Clanton edged his way into the $10,000-to-win feature on Sunday night with a 4th-place outing in his heat. Coming from the 7th row, Shane streaked through the field twelve positions, landing a runner-up finish behind race winner, Tim Dohm with Morgan Bagley, Devin Moran, and Chub Frank trailing them to the checkers.

Shane remains in second in the WoO points standings. Full results are available at www.WoOLMS.com .
