Conley Motorsports, Inc. Knocks Down Three Top Fives Over Memorial Day Weekend

WHEELERSBURG, OHIO (June 2) - The Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams blanketed southern Ohio over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, as Delmas, Rod, and R.J. Conley tackled a trio of different Buckeye State venues from May 27-29. On Friday night at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio, the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series presided over a $10,000 to win shootout. Rod ran sixth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and sixteenth in the 50-lap headliner. His brother R.J. finished fifth in heat race action prior to winning the consolation event and running seventeenth in the main event.

"Hot Rod" then took his #71r operation to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday evening for a $2,250 to win weekly Super Late Model show. Rod set Fast Time in qualifying and finished second in his heat race before bagging a strong runner-up performance in the A-Main behind only feature winner Duane Chamberlain. R.J. was back in action on Saturday at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio, as a $2,000 top prize was on the line in a weekly program. R.J. qualified well, ran fourth in the fast dash, and later slipped back to sixth in the 25-lapper.

Delmas, the patriarch of the racing Conley clan, then joined his sons Rod and R.J. on Sunday at Portsmouth Raceway Park for the annual running of the 'Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50.' Delmas won his heat race in preliminary action, but later suffered radiator issues in the $5,000 to win main event that dropped the Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer to a disappointing thirteenth place showing. Rod ran second in his heat race and later climbed up to second in the 50-lap contest to claim another runner-up effort behind only victor Jackie Boggs. R.J. placed fifth in his heat race prior to blasting past twelve competitors during the 'Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50' en route to a solid fourth place payout at the pay window. The same three CMI drivers will return to dirt-slinging competition on Saturday evening, June 4. Delmas and R.J. Conley are scheduled to venture back to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for a $2,000 to win weekly Super Late Model program. Rod Conley, on the other hand, will return back to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio for a $2,250 to win weekly showdown.
