Jason Krohn Scores $15,000 Payday at Dakota State Fair Speedway

by Ben Shelton
SLAYTON, Minnesota (June 9) – Jason Krohn enjoyed a career weekend in his Krohn Farms #7k MB Customs/ Sput’s Racing Engine Late Model by claiming a pair of OneMain Financial WISSOTA Challenge Series wins, which included the Challenge Cup XVI.

“I just get to drive this car, and there’s so many people behind the scenes that make this deal happen like Jimmy Mars, Chris Mars, A.J. Diemel, and all of my crew,” said Krohn. “This is the biggest win of my career, and I would like to dedicate it to my late daughter, Natalie. This one is definitely for her.”

After more than a month away from the driver’s seat, Jason Krohn returned to action on Thursday behind the wheel of his Krohn Farms #7k MB Customs Super Late Model with the OneMain WISSOTA Challenge Series event at Dakota State Fair Speedway (Huron, South Dakota). Drawing a stout field of 51 Super Late Models, Krohn earned the 13th-starting spot for the feature. Battling for a $5,000 payday, Krohn wheeled his way to the front, taking the lead on lap-33 en route to capturing his first victory of the season with Ricky Weiss, Lance Matthees, Donny Schatz, and Jeff Wildung trailing him across the finish line.

On Saturday night Krohn resumed action with the OneMain WISSOTA Challenge Series as the Challenge Cup XVI was contested at Dakota State Fair Speedway. In another stacked field of 43-entries, Jason won both of his heats putting him on the front row of the feature. With $10,000 on the line, Krohn led from flag-to-flag to dominantly pick up his second victory in as many nights with Jeff Provinzino, Jake Redetzke, Jeff Massingill, and Pat Doar rounding out the top five. The win marked the biggest of Jason’s career.

Complete results from these events are available at www.WISSOTA.org .

The plans for the upcoming weekend are still up in the air as Jason is currently extremely busy on his family’s farm. He’s tentatively planning to make his debut at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) in the 22nd Annual Dirt Late Model Dream. However, his work load at the farm will be the deciding factor on whether or not he makes the trip.
