JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (March 7) - Ponderosa Speedway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are pleased to announce an exciting and historic event to take place at "Kentucky's Baddest Bullring" on Friday August 1.

The 6th Annual John Bradshaw Memorial event will see the O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Model division and the Independent Racing Series co-sanction what will be an awesome evening of dirt track sports entertainment. Larry Yantz, who also serves as race director for the Super Late Model division of the O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series and Independent Racing Series race director Dean Miracle have agreed to have both sanctioning bodies govern this August 1 event.

The race will be 50 laps in distance and pay the winner $5,000 for their evening's work. The event will see the fan-friendly Independent Racing Series race format utilized, while the competitors will be action using the tire rule of the O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Model division. The event is scheduled to start at least 24 entries, with two series provisionals available to both sanctioning groups regular series travelers.

The Kentucky-based O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Model division will begin its 7th season of competition in 2008 and Victor Lee of Stanford, KY is the defending series champion. The Ohio-based Independent Racing Series recently completed an outstanding inaugural season of competition that saw Rick Aukland of Zanesville, OH be crowned the IRS champion.
