MID-ATLANTIC CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES VISITS HESSTON AND BEDFORD SPEEDWAY'S IN MAY

INDIANA, Penn. (May 5) - The Mid-Atlantic Championship Series ushers the month of May in at Ryan and Gina Lynn's, 3/8 mile, high banked, Hesston Speedway, Hesston, PA, on Sunday, May 11 for the previously postponed 'Ice Buster 50'. This ultra-smooth, multi-groove highly facility is nestled in the picturesque Allegheny Mountains in central Pennsylvania. The Series returns after a one year hiatus for the first of two scheduled events. This show carries a $30,000 purse, paying $5,000 to-win with a robust purse throughout all 24 starting positions.

The purse for the "Ice Buster 50": 1. $5,000; 2. $3,000; 3. $2,000; 4. $1,500; 5. $1,250; 6. $1,100; 7 $1,050; 8. $1,000 9. $850; 10. $700 11.$600; 12. $575; 13. $550; 14. $525; 15. $500; 16. $475; 17. $450; 18. $425; 19-24. $400. All drivers who do not transfer to the A Main will receive $100.00.

Past event winners at Hesston include two-time, defending MACS Champion, Jason Covert ('06), as well as Bart Hartman and Mike Balzano ('05). The average car count for the three previous Hesston events has been 42.

Then on Sunday, May 25, the series swings back into action returning to the familiar confines of the newly clayed, fast 5/8 mile Keifer Motorsports promoted Bedford Speedway, Bedford, PA. Under the guidance of J.R. Kiefer, Jim Maybury, and Dr. Dave Horne, Bedford's stock continues to soar in Late Model annals. This show is dubbed the 'Late Model Spring Championship' carrying a $30,000 purse with $5,000 going to the winner and $400 to-start.

All drivers who do not transfer to the A Main will receive $100.00

Previous Bedford winners include: Gary Stuhler (4), Scott Haus (2), as well as Todd Andrews, Roy Deese Jr., Bo Feathers, Lynn Geisler, Tom Myers, and Jack Pencil all collecting one victory.

Both events feature a full MACS program including AlturnaMATS® Time Trails, Heats, the Sunoco Race Fuels B Main presented by Bazell Oil, the Keizer Wheels 2nd B Main presented by Big Shot Performance, and 50-lap, $5,000 to-win A-Main's.

MACS driver's anticipated include: two-time, defending MACS Champion, Racin' Jason Covert; '05 MACS Champion the "Floodwall Flyer", Mike Balzano; '02 Series Champion "Flyin' School Teacher", Jack Pencil; '07 Lernerville Speedway Champion, Alex Ferree; 2006 and 2007 ROY titlist's Nick Dickson and Matt Lux; Chuck Clise, Al Shawver, Sr., as well as 2008 MACS ROY contenders Michael Altobelli, Jr. (PA); Thomas Baker (OH); Ron Delano, Jr. (PA); Greg Fetters (PA); Coleby Frye (PA); Russell King (OH); Donald Lingo, Jr. (DE); and Tony Lombardi (OH) are all expected to be in attendance for both events as well as many of south central PA's best including Jeremy Miller, Gary Stuhler, Scott Haus, Steve Everhart, Randy Burkholder, Wayne Johnson, Eric Zembower, Waylon Wagner, Jeff Rine, Scott Rhodes and many more!
