THIRTY-NINE MACS DRIVERS QUALIFY BEFORE RAINS HALT ACTION AT SHARON SPEEDWAY

HARTFORD, Ohio (June 21) - Thirty-Nine Mid-Atlantic Championship Series Late Models took time at Sharon Speedway, Hartford, OH with Bruceton Mills, WV's Doug Horton stopping the clock at 16.973 seconds claiming fast time in the AlturnaMATS® Shock the Clock Time Trials presented by JNJ Motorsports Media.

The Sharon Speedway support divisions were trackside when a strong burst of wind and extremely dangerous lighting entered the area. Heavy rains soon followed mixing in with the other elements forcing series and track officials to postpone the event until Saturday, August 23.

The MACS Series returns to action in two weeks at the Coleman Family's Portsmouth Raceway Park, Portsmouth, OH for two separate one-day shows on, Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5. The 'Weaver Gas and Oil Independence Day 50' will be held on Friday, July 4 paying $5,000 to win and $400 to start out of the $30,000 total purse. All drivers not making the A Main receive $100. The following day, July 5, will the Stars and Striped 'Pepsi 75' paying a hefty $10,000 to win and $700 to start from the $47,000. All drivers attempting to qualify yet failing to make Saturday's main event will receive $200 tow money. The pit gates for both shows will open at 4 pm with the drivers meeting being held at 6 pm. Hot Laps will be track side at 6:45 pm with the AlturnaMATS Shock the Clock Time Trials presented by JNJ Motorsports Media following at 7:15 pm and racing at 8 pm.
