Matt Felton CUMBERLAND, Md. (October 3) - Ricky Elliott sits in the driver's seat to claim his third Big Kahuna win after Friday's preliminary events at The Rock, Allegany County Speedway.
Over half of the starting grid was set up on Friday night after qualifying and heat races for the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) season finale. Elliott, of Seaford, Del., and the co-champion the past two years in the race, has the pole position for the Big Kahuna VIII feature to be run Saturday night. The 50-lap main event pays $12,000 to win.
Josh Richards, who set the fastest time in qualifying, will start alongside Elliott in the front row. Sixteen drivers locked themselves in through the heat events. Boom Briggs, Davey Johnson, Matt Lux and Rick Eckert the heats.
