MAYETTA, Kans. (March 27) - The ground will rumble for the first time in a long absence of a season opening Late Model show this April as O'Reilly Auto Parts brings the Topless Outlaw Racing Association (TORA) and Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) to the Thunderhill Speedway. As 2 of the Midwest's premier Late Model series converge on the 4/10 mile high banked speedplant they also be competing along with the Sportsman (B) Modifieds, Factory Stocks, and Hobby Stocks.

The Sportsman Modifieds, in their second appearance since last year's very successful inauguration at the Thunder on the Hill special, will be racing for $300 to win. The limited form of Modifieds will also be in competition in their first season at the Thunderhill Speedway and what a better chance to get in some laps than in real competition before the season starts. Last October's special drew 30+ cars from all areas and rules packages and was a very competitive race won by Belleville's Tyler Frye. This time around the rules are nearly identical, inviting all Sportsman/B/E/SportMod/Economy Modifieds out for an evening of fun prior to the points season's start.

Also, as an added bonus for the Sportsman Modifieds, Belleville Motorsports has put up an extra $300 if a driver can win not only the show on April 12, but also at the Thunder on the Hill II in October, in which the rule package will be the same.

Also welcomed back will be the Factory Stocks and Hobby Stocks. The Factorys will run for $250 to win while the Hobbys will race for $125 to win. This, as stated before, would be a great opportunity for the local drivers to get some seat time in before the official season begins. The rules will be opened to not only Thunderhill Speedway cars but also to any cars running USRA or IMCA rules to give a good number of drivers the opportunity to compete on the high banked oval.

Grandstand admission will be $15 for adults, $5 for youth 7-14 years old, and kids 6 and under free. Pit passes will be $25.

All of this is slated for Saturday night April 12, 2008 with the grandstand gates opening at 5:00, a special autograph session at 5:30, followed by hot laps at 6:30, with racing to follow at 7:00.
