CHATSWORTH, Ga. (October 23) - Ronnie Johnson swept all appearances by the Volunteer Racing Series during the 2010 Inaugural Campaign at North Georgia Speedway.

The Chattanooga, TN driver took the lead from race leader Jake Knowles on lap 16 and never looked back surviving a late race challenge by 10th starting Ray Cook, who earned the PPM Racing Products Hard Charger Award. Johnson claimed victory while driving the Miller Bros. Coal, Simmon's Lawn Care, and Koontz Plumbing & Construction sponsored Vinson powered MasterSbilt, his fifth VRS event win of the season. Five yellow flags slowed the event.

Before the event, Mike Weeks was recognized for claiming the title of Champion of the Volunteer Racing Series while Ross White was recognized for earning the Cruise with the Champions Rookie of the Year title.

The Volunteer Racing Series would like to thank its drivers and teams, tracks and promoters, sponsors, series officials, Board of Director Members and most importantly our great race fans for an exciting first season. We will have information regarding our point's banquet as well as information for the 2011 racing season on the official website located at www.racevrs.com .
