Jimmy Reeves in the show at Boone

I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like Jimmy made the show last night by running 4th in the first A-main. Not sure where that will put him in the field, but it looks like he's in. Paul Stone and Kellen Chadwick also won heats last night, but didn't make the field yet.

Almost 400 car and only $2000 to win. I don't know weather Bob Lawton is a genius or a crook!

Not to mention the top 10 lose their motors automatically to the promoter. Bragging rights only. We know it is not for the $$$$.

I just read a rundown on some midwest site...it said Reeves actually started 24th out of something like 39 cars, they started them 3 wide (can you believe what that must be like???) anyways Jimmy got all the way up to 8th and had a shock problem so he eventually finished in 24th. 24th out of 324 cars not bad I would say. Plus I saw where he ran a race at Hanford before leaving for Iowa and well you can guess who won...he did. That guy is good in a mod.

How much is the entry, how much are pit passes and how many nights? It would be interesting to see how much back gate $$$ is generated!

We had a blast back there, it is definitely a whole different ball game. Entry was $50/car pit passes were $20/day. Everyday when you checked in you got your money for the night before which was at least $50 guarenteed $300 tow money for the whole week. The competition was really tough, you drew for position each day to be in one of 40 heats and the only way to get into the big show was to win your heat which qualified you into one of 2 A's and you had to be in the top 4 to get into the show. That was the first 3 nights of racing. Each night if you didn't win your heat and finished in the top 5 you would run one of the 8 B Mains that you ran strictly for points and then on saturday they would have 20 last chance heats that were lined up by points. In the last chance heats you had to be in the top 2 which then you would go to one of 3 A's and you had to be in the top 3 of those to be at the back of lineup for the show. It is definitely not for the purse but for bragging rights (not cost effective). Out of 34 cars that started the big show only 11 cars were not from Iowa.

That's awesome that you even made it to the show.
Good job Jimmy show them how the Californian's can do it. So how did Kellen and the other guys do back there.
I know they didn't make it but other than that.

Nice job Jimmy, I had a feeling you could make it in. I even told Chad I thought you would crack the top ten. It it true you were up to eighth and had a problem?

Looks like 33 cars started the feature and 15 of those were not from Iowa. From looking through the rundown, even some of the 18 Iowa cars that made the feature were surprising to me. I would like to see a breakdown of the total number of Iowa cars vs out-of-state cars at the Supernationals. I would guess it would be close to the ratio for "A" qualifying cars.
