your funny, I think the sponsor money was real thin this year, the more tracks you travel to the harder you are going to make it on your home track, you guys need to figure this out and send someone to reno this year and sit down with promoters and get your schedule worked out

This is what I was talking about Don't Blow this Thing you got Out of Hand to Soon. or It will Fale.
Work On it for a Couple yrs. Fine tune it.
Then Start working on Growing.
And Remember Racer will be taking on a Lot more Expenives Having to Travel More
This Yr was bad do to SMS haven Started out with all the rain.
Maybe NEXT YR sms Can start like Normal again. And you can add a couple extra races. Even maybe add some to Hanford. . But Work it out Slowly So you can fine tune some of those little Kinks allong the way
I would Like to See the SS Get more of a Presents to the fans then we do.
You always Heard
Wow did you see those Sprint Car Sat night what a Show
or
Wow did you see that Dirt Late Models Sat night what a Show
Not to offend do you hear
WOW Those SS put On one Hell Of a Show
That because we have always Been the Fillers
There to Just fill up the time

Odie, you need to come over to Bako once in awhile and get away from SMS. I know at SMS with Mr. Swindell in charge, the LM or Sprints are always the feature attraction and S/S are filler cars, he has said that. This year at Bako the E v W S/S have been the headliner a few times with just the Mini's. Hobby's Americans as support divisions. The crowds have been good and the fans very enthusiastic and vocal in their support of the S/S...........Lee I personally do not know of one S/S driver that would bail out and build a IMCA Stock Car. I wonder how many people talking about this have gone to the IMCA site and looked at the rule book for that class? I have and I was amazed at the number of pages!! 350cfm carbs, old GM head casting numbers only, I could go on and on!

And you are correct. All speedways need there local drivers and cars. They are the bread and butter for each track. Late models and sprints bring money in. Botton line.

I don't think you can call the E/W Super Streets a filler anymore. The great thing about our group, is we do alot of our own promoting to get emthuziasum going. And the SS have put on some of the best racing, and the fan base is building with each race.
And as we continue to do different things, such as the Bottoms Up 100 and the 50 lap Shootout, that reward the field for racing with better paydown purses, and pullng back the rules alittle and stabalizing them for 2 years,I think the car counts will also continue to grow. ( just an example..at the Bottoms up 100, even 2 cars that did not make the Main event took home 250.00, how often does that happen ?)
If you take alook at the purses that the LM and Sprint cars need, the East vs West Shootout, is a very affordable show for the tracks, that put on great competitive races for the fans....

I agree with the thinking that dollar for dollar the Super Streets put on a fantastic show for the fans. The thing is I also agree with gro51 that no matter what happens the casual fan is still coming out for the marquee classes (LM's/Sprints).
I know of several people who attend between 6-8 events per year and if the headlining cars are not LMs or sprints they dont want to go. I try and try to convince them of how good the supers are but they always seem to think of it as a transition class.
In the end I am not trying to say the supers are less worthy of top billing, contrary as a matter of fact, I am saying it is realistic to accept the promoters position on this issue and work with them to make the supers a better value to the track and thereby increase their appeal.
I would really like to see the E/W series work on a series title sponsor that could pay out gate entry for each commited car so you can make it really attractive to blow the cobwebs off of a car and bring it out. E/W will get tons of interest from promoters if it doesnt cost alot to have them there and the promoters see butts in the seats with full pits.
They will always want Late Model and Sprint shows but they certainly wont scoff at a well attended racers racing series. I think the greatest thing the racers could do is try and convince others to race in the series. Bring a full field of cars to each venue and look out your series will grow quickly. Pay out deep in the field with the winner not getting the whole loot. I like Billys payout idea. Make the point fund where the dough is made.

If the fans want late models, then give them something that looks closer to a late model (with stock four link perhaps) and they will accept them a little quicker(:

The 06 rules were suppose to be set for a couple years. I dont think any single official or any single person should make a rule change. Leaving the rules alone for a couple years would probably be a good thing. I have a 3 link car in my shop and I dont think it should be legal. I know that the coil guys look at leaf springs hanging low but they to can move their bar locations around as well. Unfortunatly theres only a couple of you guys so you have to figure it out on your own.
My family perfers the word snivler not whiner..

We heard they had a chainsaw waiting for our nose at SMS. Brad showed me what they had him do the following day.

It would be an insult to you guys (the coil brothers) to have to strap that crap on.

Thanks for backing me up BUDDY!! If the shoe was on the other foot, it would change. There are 4 or 5 coils parked because of the rules. And they want to build the class. BTW, going to that rule meeting would have done me squawt
Oh yeah, snivler
