if you run one it does not really matter where its at, well you know what i mean. the important thing is that the fluid is just getting out of the tranny

Mike, from Mike's Transmissions told me that a circle track Glide in high gear actually cools off at race speed, the heat comes under yellow.
And that a cooler is not necessary.

That was a direct drive set up

Aw10,
I am sure you can mount it to a header collector. I am just not sure you would get much cooling.  Although it would warm the tranny quicker on a cold start.lol.....  A stock cooler on most cars is just a tube ran into the radiator coolant. So in a street car,, only the water temp cools the tranny.  I am sure the above guys are right. Tranny fluid dissapates heat pretty quick.
