What type of tranny? If your using a muncie 4spd and using 3&4 gear only you will need to remove 1&2 gear.Something about not getting enough oil to 1&2 on the main shaft. That is what i was told.

I used to run a Saginaw(sp) three speed with all its gears intact. I never had an issue with reliability, and with first gear still usable, moving in and out of the pits was much easier on the clutch. My only concern was blowing second gear out of it, so I didn't throttle up till it was in 3rd. My next mod will be the same.

What are you running for oil?  I have read that if your oil is too thin it may do that.

I second that! Been running one in my super since I started, same one to be exact! Had a rebuild after it kept popping out of gear one night and been perfect since. I run regular old dino 85-140 and change about every 8-10.
