Ponderosa Speedway Celebrates Memorial Day Weekend with May 28 Racing Action

Junction City, KY-May 24, 2010- After last Friday’s rainout, Ponderosa Speedway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz will kick off the 2010 Memorial Day weekend with an action packed, exciting evening of racing action at “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday May 28 as three of the four weekly divisions will be in action at the 3/8 mile D-shaped clay oval.

On Friday May 28, the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models will headline the racing program in a 25 lap, $1,000 to win main event. The Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models will also be in competition in a 20 lap, $600 to win feature event. Also on the May 28 racing card will be the Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds in a 20 lap, $600 to win main event. The D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman will have this particular Friday evening off. All three divisions in action on May 28 will time trial and be eligible for dash, heat, and feature competition.

Activities for this May 28 event at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the grandstand area open at 5:00 p.m. A mandatory drivers meeting takes place at 6:45 p.m., practice for 7:00 p.m. Time trials will begin at 7:30 p.m., with racing taking the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 are free. A pit pass will be $25.

Ponderosa Speedway last raced on May 14 and feature event winners included Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models, Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, J.T. Ayers of New Haven, KY in Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds, and Wayne Hager of Nicholasville, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman.

Ponderosa Speedway is located just off of 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are the track promoters and present dirt track sports entertainment on Friday evenings from April through early October.
