Richmond Raceway has Weekly Racing Series on tap Saturday, May 29

RICHMOND, KY (May 24, 2010) – After a great night one week ago, Richmond Raceway track promoters Joey and Tiffany Tackett are ready to present another night of dirt track racing entertainment with CJB Racecar Bodies and Graphics Night featuring weekly racing series action in all divisions.

A full program of racing is on tap for all divisions on Saturday May 29. In action will be the Coyote 100.7 FM Super Late Models in a 25-lap; $1,000 to win A-Main, the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds in a 20-lap; $500 to win A-Main, the Sportsman in 20-lap; $400 to win A-Main, and the Road Hogs in a 12-lap; $150 to win A-Main. The Coyote 100.7 FM Super Late Models, UMP Open Wheel Modifieds, and Sportsman will Time Trial on May 29 while the Road Hogs will draw for Heat Race starting positions.

Activities for May 29 will see the pit area open at 4:30 p.m., with the grandstand area opening at 5:30 p.m. A mandatory drivers meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m. with hot laps set to begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by time trials at 7:15 p.m. Ticket prices in the grandstand area will be $12 while a pit pass will go for $25.

After winning the 2010 Season Opener behind the wheel of his own Bandit Race Car, then going on to win the 1st Annual UMP Open Wheel Modified Bash behind the wheel of the Brooke Sparks owned IAT Motorsports machine; Russ Gabbert has dominated the UMP Modified division thus far in 2010 winning his third straight UMP Open Wheel Modified Feature this past Saturday Night May 22.

Richmond Raceway Officials have issued a “bounty” against Gabbert valued at $100. In order for the winning driver to be eligible for prize money, Gabbert MUST finish the A-Main Feature event. The winning driver will NOT be rewarded for Gabbert’s misfortune; this does include any mechanical issues or unforeseen circumstances determined by Richmond Raceway Officials.

Richmond Raceway’s most recent events took place on May 22 where feature event winners that night would include Jimmy Crabtree of Irvine, KY in the Coyote 100.7 FM Super Late Models, Russ Gabbert of Berea, KY in the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds, Glen Hounshell Jr. of Berea, KY in the Sportsman, and Wayne Duvall of Lexington, KY in the Road Hogs.

Current track championship point’s leaders heading to the May 29 events include Jimmy Crabtree of Irvine, KY in the Coyote 100.7 FM Super Late Models, Russ Gabbert of Berea, KY in the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds, Glen Hounshell Jr. of Berea, KY in the Sportsman, and Wayne Duvall of Lexington, KY in the Road Hogs.
