Junction City, KY-July 6, 2010- Ponderosa Speedway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz will return with racing action at the 3/8 mile D-shaped clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday July 9 as the National All Star Racing Association returns for the 8th Annual John Bradshaw Memorial event, paying $5,000 to win for Super Late Models.

On Friday July 9, the National All Star Racing Association Late Models will be in action at Ponderosa Speedway in a full program of practice, time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 50 lap, $5,000 to win 8th Annual John Bradshaw Memorial A-Main event. Also on the July 9 racing program in weekly racing series competition will be the Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Models for $600 to win, Clayton Homes UMP Modifieds for $600 to win, and the D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman for $300 to win. It will also be double track points for the Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Model division on Friday July 9.

Activities for the July 9 event at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the grandstand area open at 5:00 p.m. A mandatory drivers meeting takes place at 6:45 p.m., with practice set for 7:00 p.m. Time trials will begin at 7:30 p.m., with racing taking the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices for July 9 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 12, and children under age 6 are free. A pit pass will be $35.

The John Bradshaw Memorial first appeared on the Ponderosa Speedway schedule in late 2003 after the untimely passing of the late Mr. Bradshaw in May of that same year. The first race was contested as a combined event with the Fall Classic and was won by Campbellsville, KY racer Johnny Wheeler. Current UMP Modified racer Benji Lee of Loretto, KY won the 2004 contest in what was the biggest win of his racing career driving a Super Late Model. Eddie Carrier, Jr. of Salt Rock, WV was the victor of the 2005 race, while Greg Johnson of Bedford, IN grabbed the event win in 2006. Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN won the 2007 version of the Bradshaw event on a hot and humid night that saw the thermometer touch 102 degrees that August afternoon. The Independent Racing Series would sanction the race in 2008 and Rob Blair of Titusville, PA made the 11 hour tow worthwhile in grabbing the $5,000 payday in the race. Victor Lee of Danville, KY would make a successful debut for new car owners late in the 2009 season by winning the event and is the defending champion of the race. There has yet to be a repeat winner of the John Bradshaw Memorial race heading into the 2010 edition of the race.

Ponderosa Speedway is located just off of 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY. Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are the track promoters and present dirt track sports entertainment on Friday evenings from April through early October.
