The Carolina Clash has its eyes on Dublin Speedway for September 25th

By: Alex Cummings
The stars of the Carolina Clash have their eyes on Dublin Speedway for this Saturday, September 25th. “Dublin has produced some of the best racing we have seen all year” said Carolina Clash owner Larry Lee. “We have seen two and three wide racing around the entire track at Dublin in both of our visits this season”.

In the first ever appearance for the Carolina Clash at Dublin Speedway back at the end of June, saw Luke Roffers set fast time and win the feature go around. It was Roffers first career victory with the Carolina Clash.

The second appearance at Dublin for the Carolina Clash held just a month ago in which fans witnessed a very emotional victory for Jeff Smith. In victory lane, Smith dedicated his win to the late Jack Starrette. “Mr. Starrette sponsored many of the super late models in the area and would always go above and beyond the call of duty to help those in need” said Marion Limbaugh, Carolina Clash Event Coordinator.

The first two races of the season for the Carolina Clash at Dublin saw door handle to door handle racing around the entire race track. The fans sitting in the grandstands didn’t even need their seats as they stood for the entire 40 laps. The racing was some of the hottest racing any fans in the southeast have seen this season. Both appearances have also yielded full fields of cars with many of the local hometown favorites coming out to race with the touring boys. Who will take the victory this Saturday night? Will one of the local hometown boys or one of the touring drivers bring home the checkered flag? You will have to be there to see.

Dennis Franklin still leads the Carolina Clash points. Dean Bowen is still riding along in the 2nd position in championship points and is still leading the Rookie of the Year points. Third in Carolina Clash points is Ricky Weeks and he’s hot on the tail on the Bowen. Jay Sessoms sits 4th in championship points and 2nd in Rookie of the Year points. Rounding out your top five is David Taylor.
