King of the Hill Friday and Saturday for Lucas Oil MLRA at Junction

Buckner, MO - Lucas Oil MLRA drivers are preparing for the annual King of the Hill race at Junction Motor Speedway this Friday and Saturday. For top series competitors, Al Purkey and John Anderson the event is all about the points, as they will fight it out over the final portion of the season. For Kelly Boen, winner of the most Lucas Oil MLRA features in 2010, it's not been a typical season. He has only raced a handful of times and only won one race to this point in the season. He'll be looking to continue his hot streak at Junction Motor Speedway.

The odds will be in Boen's favor. Of the past nine Lucas Oil MLRA races contested at the 4/10 mile speed plant, Boen has won six including the last four straight, to sweep the "King of the Hill" the past two seasons. "The track is real symmetrical so I can set up for both corners the same," stated Boen. "It's a real racy place. Anymore, I don't like going to places where you follow the leader. I can always find a way to race there. It's one of my favorite places."

Track owner Delmar Friesen deserves a lot of credit for making Junction Motor Speedway a memorable place for racers and fans. "Delmar and his family went the extra mile to put the facility together," stated Boen. "They put their heart and soul into making it the place it is, and that's why I enjoy going there to race."

Boen will be in his Road Runner Fabrication #07 Rocket. This particular car hasn't been raced much and has never been on the Junction Motor Speedway oval.

The "King of the Hill" is a two day event paying a separate purse each night. Friday August 12 and Saturday August 13 the pit gate opens at 4 PM, with the grandstand opening at 5 PM. Racing will begin at 7 PM. Adult admission is $20. Students 6-12 are $4 and kids 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $20 for NASCAR members and $30 for non NASCAR members.
