Bobby Labonte Racing Goes Back on Lucas Tour after World 100

TRINITY, NC (September 13) - Bobby Labonte Racing (BLR) is ready to roll into Old Dominion for two days of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) action. The first stop will be at Winchester (Va.) Speedway for the running of "Gunter's Honey 50" on Friday, September 16, followed by the "ASi Racewear USA 100" at Virginia Motor Speedway on September 17.

The team is looking for strong runs after taking a break last weekend from the tour to compete in the "World 100" at the famed Eldora Speedway in New Weston, Ohio. Earl Pearson Jr. and his No. 44 Lucas Oil Dodge team finished 26th after starting 15th in the race. The car was starting to run hot before Pearson Jr. pulled it into the pits early. Brad Neat and the No. 41 Red Buck Cigars team did not make the feature event after being involved in an accident in his heat race.

Looking ahead to this weekend, the team feels that they can give Pearson his first win of the season. Why? Well, the two-day stint was a prosperous one for Pearson in 2010. He piloted the Lucas Oil Dodge to a second-place finish at Winchester Speedway and a third-place finish at Virginia Motor Speedway. The team also finished 13th with the World of Outlaws in April of this year. He enters this week sixth in the LOLMDS championship standings, 1,245 points behind leader Jimmy Owens.

"I can't wait to go racing with the Lucas Oil series again," Pearson said. "These two tracks (Winchester Speedway and Virginia Motor Speedway) are good tracks. We had great runs at each place last year and another good run at Virginia Motor Speedway in April. We've had our ups and downs this season, but we're going to be fine. This weekend is a good opportunity to get our first win of the season if everything goes right."

Brad Neat, driver of the No. 41 Red Buck Cigars car, is currently seventh in the LOLMDS championship standings, 1,305 points outside of first place. He finished last season's races at Winchester Speedway and Virginia Motor Speedway in 18th and 12th place respectively.

He looks towards this week's events as an opportunity for redemption.

"Going back to Virginia, we're set on getting a pair of top-10 finishes," Neat said. "We haven't had the luck or finishes we've wanted there, but hopefully we can turn it around this weekend. There are only seven races left in the season and you always want to finish strong."
