Simpson collects $3K Corn Belt Clash Series win at Cedar County Raceway
CBC Media
TIPTON, IA (May 18) - A strong field of 32 Corn Belt Clash Late Models ventured to Al and Kathy Dlouhy’s Cedar County Raceway in Tipton, Iowa for the $3,000-to-win event. Benefitting from the Kindl LLC Business Solutions Fast Dash Re-Draw that placed him on the pole for the event, Simpson jumped out to an early lead and set a torrid early pace.
Even after several early cautions erased his lead, Simpson was able to keep strong control out front as he was pursued closely by his brother-in-law Andy Eckrich and brother Chad Simpson. Wisconsin’s Tim Isenberg also began his drive forward from his 12th starting position. Chad Simpson worked his way into second as Tim Isenberg, Jake Meir and Justin Kay continued to battle just outside the top-five.
The caution flew with one lap to go, regrouping the field for a green-white-checkered finish as the brother battle for the win was set. Using a strong restart, Chris Simpson jumped out to a two car length lead which he would never surrender as he took the checkered flag for his first Corn Belt Clash Series victory of the season followed by two-time and defending CBC Champion Chad Simpson, Andy Eckrich, Jeff Larson and Justin Kay. Tim Isenberg came home in sixth and was the Hooker Harness Hard Charger for the event with Jake Meir, Andrew McKay, Denny Eckrich and Justin Mitchell rounding out the top-ten.

The Corn Belt Clash Series will return to action on Sunday May 27th at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska as part of the annual Alphabet Soup Race. For more info on the Corn Belt Clash Series, go to
