PERRY, SMITH, COURTNEY, BROOKS and BEGAN WIN BOYD's OPENER....
BUT RJ STEALS THE SHOW

Chattanooga/Ringgold (March 15) - The Boyd's Speedway opened up this weekend for its first regular races of the season. Many fans looking to get their "live" racing fix and competitors seeking their all-mighty first win were in attendance. In the Steel-head Late Model division former ('99) Southern All-Star Champion (S.A.S) Jamie Perry of Ringgold made a rare early racing season appearance possibly looking forward to next weekends S.A.S series "ShamRock" race. In the end Perry took the victory from his front row starting position, but it was former two-time Dirt Track World Champion Ronnie Johnson whom all but stole the show. RJ, arriving late per usual despite living near downtown Chattanooga, started last in the feature race and pulled up along side of Perry during the final laps only to finish second. Villanow, Georgia's Jeff Smith took his "Back In Black" #17S Crate Late Model to victory lane in his feature. Josh Began won the nights A-Hobby race. Dallas Brooks won the B-Hobby race and Knoxville's Michael Courtney won in the Mini's feature. The $5,000 to-WIN S.A.S "ShamRock" race will bring Super Late Models to Boyd's next Saturday night (3/22). More details are available online on the tracks Faceboook page or at www.boydsspeedway.net.
