Randy Christine Jr. Wins on York County Racing Club Night at SSP on Saturday

Newberrytown, PA (April 12, 2014) – Randy Christine Jr. of Manchester claimed the victory in the Late Models on York County Racing Club Night at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday Night.  Lebanon’s Jasen Geesaman took the checkers of the Street Stock 20 lapper.  Tyler Lebo of Dillsburg picked up the win in the 20-lap PA Sprint Series feature event.  York’s Patrick McClane won the Xtreme Stock Car 20 lapper.  The 15-lap Road Warrior feature was won by Dallastown’s Ricky Weaver.  Zakari Kitner of York Haven claimed the 12-lap Mini Van feature.  Keith Dorsey from Thurmont, MD was the Jr. Road Warrior winner.  

Randy Christine Jr. started on the pole position and grabbed the early lead over Jared Miller in the 25-lap non-stop feature.  Midway through the race, Kyle Martin moved into second place and set his sights on Christine.  On lap 17, Martin closed in on the leader but bobbled slightly giving the runner-up spot back to Miller.  With two to go, Martin moved back around Miller but ran out of time to track down Christine who went on to win the feature.  Martin settled for second, followed by Miller and Billy Wampler in fourth.  Eric Irvin rounded out the top five.  Miller and Christine were the heat race winners.  

Scott Thunberg grabbed the early lead of the 20-lap Street Stock feature from the front row.  Gary Potts exploded from an eighth place starting spot to the lead by the second circuit.  Ninth place starter Jasen Geesaman also made his way to the front and began challenging Potts for the lead by lap 6.  On the next lap, Potts spun, giving the lead to Geesaman.  Once in front, Geesaman never looked back and went on to take the victory.  Scott Thunberg finished strong in second, followed by Michelle Walls with a career-best third place finish.  Bob Scott Jr. and Jimmy Combs took fourth and fifth respectively.  Geesaman, Potts and Walls were heat race victors.

The 20-lap Xtreme Stock Car feature event had polesitter Davey Nester lead the first eight circuits until Patrick McClane took the top spot away.  Nester continued to pursue McClane but was unable to regaint he lead with McClane crossing the finish line first.  Nester settled for second, followed by Todd Knaub and Chris Heller.  Mike Smith finished fifth and was the Madison House Hard Charger of the race after starting 10th.  Heat race winners were Nester and Jim Jacobs.    

In the 20-lap PA Sprint Series feature, Tyler Lebo grabbed the early lead and set the pace en route to the victory by leading every lap.  Mark Watkins tried to track down Lebo, but settled for second at the end.  John Braim worked hard to make the high side work and finished third.  Mike Wagner and Eric Walker finished fourth and fifth respectively.  Tyler Bear, Mike Wagner II and Scott Ellerman won their respective heat races.

Ricky Weaver took the lead on the start of the Road Warrior 15 lapper and went on to take the victory over Terry Hartlaub and Brian Lefebvre.  Daryl Sipe and Curt McDade completed the top five.  Hartlaub, McDade and Weaver were heat race winners.

Zakari Kitner lead from start to finish to win the 12-lap Mini Van race.  Donny Groff finished second, followed by John Kitner in third.  Roy Denike and Richard Wolfe rounded out the top five.  

Racing action returns to the Big Track at SSP on Sunday night, April 13 with the 410 Super Sprint Cars along with the 358 Sprint Cars in the 5th Annual Sprint Car Spring Classic.

Then on Saturday, April 19, Figure 8 Racing returns to SSP along with the Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stocks, Road Warriors, Mini Vans/Jr. Road Warriors and the PENNMAR Vintage Cars.
