Kent Robinson Claims Emotional Victory at Bloomington

by Ben Shelton
BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (April 28) – Kent Robinson entered the 2nd annual J.B. Robinson Memorial on Friday night at Bloomington Speedway (Bloomington, Indiana), where he came away with a very special triumph aboard his Jones Oil #85 Elite Chassis Modified.

“Obviously I want to win every race, but this is one that I wanted the most,” noted Robinson. “My dad was a great man, and loved by so many people. To win this race with so many of my family and friends here with us really means a lot.”

The American Modified Series (AMS) sanctioned the $2,000-to-win program, which drew a field of twenty-seven entries. Robinson charged to a heat race victory to lock into 30-lap main event. Brian Shaw would lead the first nine circuits until the third caution of the event waved. Robinson made what would be the winning pass on the on the ensuing restart, taking control on lap ten and never looking back. Kent cross the finish line first in his father's memorial event ahead of Tyler Nicely, Brian Shaw, Mark Lamont, and Clayton Miller.
