Benyou is the 6th Different Late Model Winner on Saturday Night at SSP in 21a Memorial Day Championships

Newberrytown, PA (May 23) – On the 21a Memorial Day Championship in remembrance of the late Mike Zeigler Sr., New Cumberland’s Cameron Benyou became the sixth different winner in as many races by claiming the victory in the BRC Late Models at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday Night.  York Haven’s Mike Potts claimed his second feature win of the season in the 21-lap Street Stock feature race.  Alex Updegraff of Etters won the Xtreme Stock Car 20 lapper.  The 15-lap Road Warrior feature was won by Tim Osheehan from Dover for his third consecutive win of the season.  York Haven’s Zakari Kitner claimed his third 12-lap Mini Van feature of the season.  Hanover’s Glenn Pobletts won the PENNMAR Vintage Car feature and Ronnie Peck claimed the Blast from the Past Vintage Cars 15 lapper.
 
Polesitter Tim Murphy took the early lead in the special 21-lap BRC Late Model feature.  Cameron Benyou chased from the runner-up position.  On lap 5, Benyou passed Murphy to take the lead and began to set the pace.  Benyou came across the finish line ahead of Murphy to take the victory.  Charles Potts finished strong in third place followed by Randy Christine Jr. in fourth.  Jake Moser finished a season best in the fifth position.  Chase Billet and Murphy were the heat race winners.    
 
Richard Bossinger grabbed the early lead of the 21-lap Street Stock feature from outside the front row.  On lap 9 Bossinge retired from the race, handing the lead to Jim Palm Jr.  Palm set the pace of the field until Mike Potts moved into the runner-up spot and began challenging Palm for the lead.  On the final lap going into turn three, Potts dove to the inside of Palm for the position.  With both cars coming off turn four for the checkers, Palm did not give any room as he slid high coming to the line.  Potts took the win with Jimmy combs in second.  Scott Thunberg finished third as Eric McCLane and Josh Bloom finished fourth and fifth respectively.  Palm Jr. and Potts were the heat race winners.
 
The 21-lap Xtreme Stock Car feature event began with the polesitter John Frye taking the early lead with Alex Updegraff close behind in the runner-up spot.   On lap 8 Patrick McClane made it a three car battle for the lead.  A late race caution closed up the field and on the restart, Updegraff passed Frye using the high side of the speedway and never looked back to take the victory over Frye.  Travis Horan, coming all the way from a 20th place starting spot took third place and the Madison House Hard Charger award.  Brian Rehbein finished fourth, followed by Rich Lomman if fifth.  Heat race winners were Davey Nester, Donnie Broderick and Todd Knaub.    
 
Daryl Kump II led lap one of the Road Warrior 15 lapper with Tim Osheehan taking the top spot on the second circuit.  Osheehan took his third consecutive victory with Travis Brown coming actoss the line in second for the fourth consecutive race.  Kump finished third as Donald Fortini finished fourth.  Brian Lefebvre rounded out the top five.  Gary Grim and Osheehan were heat race winners.
 
Zakari Kitner took the early lead from a fourth place starting spot at the start of the 12-lap Mini Van race and edged out Dennis Dorosz at the finish to take the victory.  Richard Wolfe finished third, followed by Daryl Kump II and Roy Denike in fourth and fifth places respectively.     Jack Gose was the Jr. Road Warrior winner.    
 
Glenn Pobletts led from start-to-finish to win the 12-lap PENNMAR Vintage Car feature race over Brian Gagliardo.  Randy Minnich finished third, with Scott Rickrode and John Marks finishing fourth and fifth places respectively.  Gagliardo too the win in the heat race earlier in the evening.  
 
Aaron Brommer was the early leader in the 15-lap Blast from the Past feature until lap 5 when Kevin Kuzer took over the top spot.  Meanwhile, Ronnie Peck was moving his way through the field from a 12th place starting spot.  With two laps to go, Peck took the lead and went on to take the Checkers over Kuzer.  Dwayne Guistwite finished third followed by Brommer in fourth.  Vince Gagliardo Jr. rounded out the top five.  Kuzer won the heat race.
