PITTSBURGH, Penn. (April 9) - In the Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic DIRTcar Super Late Models, Ron Davies of Warren PA paid a surprise visit to PPMS and picked up a career first PPMS win. Mike Johnson and Mike Norris brought the field down for the green. Johnson took the lead at the start, but was replaced on lap 2 by Ron Davies, (who will be chasing the 2011 WoO rookie title). Davies led John Flinner, Mike Johnson and Michael Davis. There was yellow on lap 7 for Ben Miley, who slowed on the back straight. Davies grabbed the lead on the restart and ran away from the field. Davies tagged Jason Rider while lapping him to bring out the yellow. Davies was able to continue, Rider was not. On the restart, Davies was back out front and romped to the win. John Flinner was second followed by Michael Davis, Mike Norris, Mike Johnson, Kari Gasser, Jim Stephans, Jason Rider, Lynn Geisler and Tom Bateman. The heats fell to Michael Davis and John Flinner. Tony Musolino, John Lobb, Brandon Burgoon and Chad Ruhlman did not start the main.

In the Brougher's Machine Shop Fastrak Pro Late Models saw Wexford PA's Mike Pegher Jr. pick up the win. A straight up start on saw Bill Stile III and Mike Pegher bring the field down for the green. Pegher grabbed the lead at the start and built up a straight away lead by lap 5. On lap 5 Colton Flinner slowed in turns three and four, and was collected by Nico Dabecco, both were done for the night. On the restart Pegher resumed the lead and opened up a gap. Lap 9 saw another caution for a broken wheel of Ken Chernik. Pegher took off again and was on a rail pulling away. Lap 13 saw second running Kyle Lukon with rear end problems and pull off. Pegher continued to dominate and won by more than a straight away. At the finish it was Pegher, Justin Lamb, Bill Stile III (in his first ever PPMS start), Troy Shields, Daniel Angelicchio, Mike Reft, Ron Hall, Kyle Lukon, Ken Chernik, and Laura Lukon. It was Pegher's 10th career win. Pegher also broke the existing track record 3 times during the feature with the fastest, 19:046. In the two heats Bill Stile III and Mike Pegher Jr. won.

In the Miley RV Service UMP Modifieds Toronto OH's Kevin Miller took the win. The feature was a wild event, with no less than three leaders, and a rash of DNF's among the front runners. Don Davies, Ron's son grabbed the lead and was pulling away, when he got a flat. Chris Basich took over at that point but he also got a flat and dropped out. Kevin Miller assumed the lead at that point and led the remainder of the event. Kari Gasser was running a strong third when her hood flew up and she could not see, and pitted. Following Miller at the line was Clayton Kennedy, Vince Laboon, Tom Martineck, George Nicola, Kari Gasser, Chris Basich, Deana Groves, Don Davies, and Rich Curry. The heat had Clayton Kennedy pick up the win.

The Sunoco Race Fuels DIRTcar Cadets saw Imperial PA's Nick Kocuba win the first race of 2011. Josh Langer grabbed the early lead and led until a restart, when he developed a flat and slowed and pitted. Kocuba assumed the lead at that point, and held off challenges of Craig Koteles. On the last lap, Koteles tried a slide job on Kocuba, and the two hit, with Koteles spinning and Kocuba ending up taking the win. At the checker, it was Kocuba, Dave McManus, Jake Simmons, Joe Koteles, Jesse Gould, Mike Mohn, Craig Koteles, Jameson Stumper, Josh Langer, and Mitch Wattelet. Jake Simmons took the first heat and Pat Weldon the second.

The Miley BP Car Wash DIRTcar Hobby Stocks Oakdale PA's Joe Podolinski won a career first over, Ed Wiser, Ricky Steigerwald, Richard Wilson, Chase Evans, Adam Chytil and A.J. Poljak. A.J. Poljak won the heat.

In the Imperial Heights Garage DIRTcar Young Guns, Logan Crewl, Carnegie PA, picked up his first ever win over Todd Weldon.
