Billy Moyer Earns Top Ten in USA Nationals; Starts Gearing Up for Topless 100

BATESVILLE, AR (August 8) - The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team decided today to take the upcoming August 9-10 weekend off from racing action.  Instead, they will be busy prepping their equipment for the rapidly approaching ‘Topless 100’ at the nearby Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas.  The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again preside over the crown jewel extravaganza on August 16-17 and the winner will walk away with a hefty $40,000 paycheck.  Additional information concerning this year’s version of the ‘Topless 100’ can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

Billy Moyer found himself in the Badger State of Wisconsin last week (July 30-August 3) for a trio of high-profile World of Outlaws Late Model Series events at the Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wisconsin and the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin.  Billy's best finish during the swing up north came in the biggest event – the 26th Annual 'USA Nationals’ at Cedar Lake.  The Batesville, Arkansas ace timed in sixth quickest in Group A during qualifying on Friday and later grabbed the second transfer spot through his heat race.  Billy was then a fixture in the top ten throughout the $50,000 to win main event on Saturday and eventually crossed underneath the checkers in the ninth position following 100 green flag racing laps.

In other events last week, Billy unfortunately narrowly failed to transfer into the $6,000 to win ‘USA Nationals’ lid lifter at CLS on Thursday after finishing fourth in both his heat race and his B-Main.  At Shawano on Tuesday, the busy week started with a $10,000 to win WOOLMS tilt.  “Mr. Smooth” ran third in heat race action, but was an early retiree in the 50-lapper and wound up nineteenth in the final rundown.
